Maintenance (Alimony)

The arrangement of support payments are often essential for those who are entitled to such payments as well as for the person liable to provide maintenance.
German law recognizes the spouses continuing responsibility for each other even after separation and divorce. Therefore maintenance can be claimed after separation until a divorce takes place (alimony during the separation of spouses) and after a divorce (post-marital alimony).
Parents have a duty to maintain their children (minors and children of full age during their education, illness or while caring for own children).
We also deal with alimony for parents (financial support by children) and with claims of non-married parents against the other parent of their child.
Even if an agreement or a support order already exists it might be neccessary to review and alter the title.
